HOW TO TRANSITION YOUR MAKEUP FROM SUMMER TO FALL

As sad as it may be that summer is coming to an end, it's about time we enjoy the last few weeks of sunshine, sunbathing, beach days and everything beautiful that comes with summer. The season of boots, pumpkin spice lattes, sweaters and tights is finally here (Yaaaay!). An exciting way to prepare for the change in season is to start transitioning your makeup bag from one season to the next. Here are some tips to help you transition smoothly.

Shimmer to Matte Eye shadow

It's time to switch up the shimmery, copper lids to some warm matte shades like brown, plum, navy, grey and cranberry or at least incorporate some matte textures.

Switch from Lightweight Foundations / Tinted Moisturizers to Creamier Foundation

Dewy tinted moisturizer and lightweight foundations were our go to this summer. But as the weather cools, you should add a creamier matte complexion product to your makeup bag. Your skin is also going through a transition phase and your foundation should be adjusted accordingly.Swap your daily foundation for a creamier, richer formulas

Incorporate Dark Liners to Tone Down Bright Lipsticks

You don’t need to abandon your favorite lipstick and lip gloss collection. However, you should add one or two deeper colors to your bag (plum, terra-cotta & chocolate hues). Changing the color you line your lips with will instantly update your look. If you've been wearing brights (corals, oranges, pinks) this summer, change your lip pencil to a darker hue and work it into the (bright) lipstick to help make it appear darker, this will mute it and make it more fall appropriate. Some fall appropriate lip liners that can help tone down your bright summer lipsticks are LushBoysenberryRoseateKisses, and Lady.
